Time and Era:  Kilid lives in the far future.  Sonic and friends are long dead, but so is Robotnick.  Robotnick’s forces still battle for control of the world though.  Which is why Mobius hasn’t aged technology wise.

Story:  Kilid grew up in a residential area of the world, far from the fighting.  There he lived with his father.  What happened to his mother remains a mystery a mystery to him, though his father knows.  Kilid grew up hoping to one day join the rebellion to help destroy the robots and restore peace.  His dad encouraged his son to be good at whatever he wanted to be, so he gave his son a metal that has been in the family for generations that was given to the family for their courageous efforts in something that the family doesn’t remember after all these years.  Ever since his dad gave it to Kilid, Kilid has never taken it off and it has inspired him to do the best job he can in whatever he does.  Kilid became interested in technology and became a wiz at fixing things.  He was usually in the basement of his house fixing things, so his father helped him set up a workshop down there.  While searching through a junk yard to find something interesting to put back together he stumbled upon a robotizer.  He brought it back to his basement to see if he could rework it to somehow aid in the fight against the approaching robot army.  Knowing that his dad would never allow such a monstrous machine in the house he kept it hidden in his basement.  He worked on it for countless weeks and eventually got it to its original state of being able to robotize.  One night Kilid fell asleep at the computer terminal that he hooked up to robotizer, while studying it.  That same night the robot army had sneaked to the outskirts of the city and was preparing for a take over.  Kilid awoke startled to the sound of a canon firing.  He was so startled by it that he accidentally pressed some keys on his computer terminal that started up the robotizer.  The robotizer kicked some energy back to the computer terminal which made it explode, and knocked Kilid into the robotizer.  Kilid’s metal infused into his chest which replaced the instruction circuits that makes him loyal to Robotnick and his army.  The robotizer overloaded and exploded leaving a hole in the wall and the newly robotized Kilid in front of it.  Kilid’s dad was awakened by the canon firing also.  He jumped out of bed and went to his son’s room to find Kilid wasn’t there.  Panic set in as he heard an explosion downstairs where Kilid’s workshop was.  He rushed downstairs to find a huge hole in the wall leading to outside and a robot standing right in front of it.  Drawing the conclusion that the robot had killed his son, his heart tore in two.  Seeing some loose electric wires and a gas tank that was used to heat the house He pick up the electric wires and screamed, “YOU KILLED MY SON AND NOW YOU’LL PAY!”  With that he shoved the electric lines into the gas tank…

Kilid’s body was laying next to a crater when the system rebooted.  It was quick to determine that it needed to a major repair job.  For a complete repair all of Kilid’s memory chips that held his past memories were teleported to storage facilities around the world, except one memory chip which was knocked out by the blast.  A few hours later the repairs were complete and the system started up.  It ran a diagnostic which awoke Kilid.  Kilid couldn’t control anything in his body, but he didn’t really know that it was his body to begin with.  The computer ignored his questions of what was happening while it finished up it’s startup routines.  When it reached part of the startup when it initialized the loyalty circuits, the system realized that the part was missing, cause Kilid’s metal was in it’s place.  The program required that it call the nearest robot support station for emergency pickup.  Fortunately, robot support stations were no longer used in this era and so the call for help was never going to answered.  After about 4 hours of standing around, Kilid was getting really bored.  He asked the computer how much longer they were going to have to wait.  The computer admitted that it shouldn’t have taken this long.  Kilid then asked if there was another thing that if there was another task that could be completed while they were waiting.  The computer said that this was the last step in the procedure.  “Are we just going to stand around then?”  >>I’m not programmed to move the body unless instructed by the one the loyalty circuits tell me who I should listen to.<<  “but aren’t those parts missing and no one’s responding at the robot station?”  >>that is correct.<<  “Well, I don’t want to just stand around.”  >>Like I said, I can’t move the body unless instructed---<<  “yeah, yeah, I know…”  After a while Kilid spoke up again.  “what about you give me control of the body?  I don’t have any programming that says I can’t move it.”  The computer calculates for a few seconds then gives in.  >>Alright… switching control to host.<<  Kilid waits a few seconds expecting to feel something.  “have you switched yet.”  >>all motor controls are controlled by you, now<<  Kilid moves his eyes, then head looking around the area, “cool.” He lifts his arms up and moves his claw-like fingers, “that’s neat.”  He then lifts his leg up and puts it down and lifts the other one and puts that down, “alright.”  Very slowly he tries walking, getting used to his newfound mobility.  He looks downward at a large piece of broken mirror glass.  “so that’s what I look like.”  >>yes, what little left of your memory banks tells me is that your name is Kilid.<<  He examines himself in the mirror a little more, “Kilid…”  He stops, and thinks about what the computer said.  “what happened to the rest or my memory banks?”  Kilid sees a text window open up showing a log file.  >>Logs show that you had to go through a full systems repair, and your memory chips were teleported to memory storage facilities.<<  Kilid examines the log file and comes across an error.  “it says here that the one of the memory chips didn’t get teleported because it was not found.”  The computer calculates for a second, >>It may have fallen out right before teleportation.<<  Kilid closes the window and searches the ground.  A greet dot appears highlighting the chip among the debris.  Kilid walks over to it and picks it up.  “now what?”  The computer  responds by opening up Kilid’s hourglass shaped chest plate which hides empty slots for memory chips and bringing up data on which slot to put it in.  Kilid carefully places the chip into the first slot.  After a few seconds of initializing the memory chip he instantly remembers his earliest memories.  Like standing up in the middle of the night in his crib to play with baby toys.  His dad taking him to the shoe store and trying on pairs of shoes.  Looking in a mirror to see a flesh hedgehog staring back at him.  After a minute of remembering his early past Kilid realizes, “I was once flesh not metal…  Why don’t I remember anything else?”  >>You’ll have to find the other chips to find out the rest of your memories.<<  “Do you know where these memory storage facilities are?”  The computer brings up a map display of the globe and red dots appear on the maps.  >>these are the locations of the memory storage facilities.<<  Kilid nods, “alright then, let’s get going.”  He walks down the street to begin his journey for his past.
